Hellstromme Factory Bombed, July 5, 1879

The people of Salt Lake City, who don't usually celebrate Independence Day, had their own Ghost Rock fireworks in the sky. Spectators across the city saw an explosion of green light around 11:30pm on the 4th when a explosion went off in one of the Hellstromme factories outside of the city. Initially many folk thought that it was another experiment being tested by Hellstromme Industries. Quickly many recognized it as a disaster as they heard and saw fire wagons from around the city converge on the flaming factory before the fire spread to any other volatile buildings. Luckily only 23 employees and one volunteer firefighter were killed in the explosion or fire. Representatives of Hellstromme were quick to point out that this was an act of sabotage and not an invention gone wrong. Also noted was that one of the saboteurs was caught and is currently being questioned. This was the first successful bombing of a Hellstromme factory in quite some time, and security is being doubled in the Salt Lake City area as the number of attempts at sabotage has increased dramatically since Hellstromme had mentioned his desire to sell his new war-machine. In a quick statement from Darius Hellstromme, "Some people are afraid of progress and it saddens me that they are willing to murder others to try and stop the forward movement of advancement. In honor of all of those who perished in Factory H217 I solemnly promise that I will personally make sure that their families are taken care of."

Woman Found Murdered in Paris Home, June 28, 1879

Madame Rochelle Aiton, a 23 year old woman, was found murdered in her Paris home yesterday. Police officers found the body after numerous complaints from neighbors caused them to investigate the smell coming from the home. After entering the homestead, Madame Aitons's body was found on her bed covered in blood from where she was stabbed multiple times all over her body. Inspectors believe that Madame Rochelle had been dead for at least 4-6 days based on decomposition. There was also mention that the victim was beaten before she was stabbed to death based on the bruising upon her face and body. Madame Aiton was an aspiring artist who had survived on the savings left to her by her departed husband; Henri Aiton who passed away four years earlier due to fever. Neighbors are currently in shock that such an awful thing could happen right where they live. Currently the Police have no known suspects and are canvasing the neighborhood and city to find any information on what actually happened. Inspector Jorge Thoreau is currently in charge of the case and has asked the citizens of Paris to stand strong against such a dark act and that Parisians please come forward with any information.

Reverend Grimme’s Prayers Have Benn Answered, June 23, 1879

The people left their homes and flocked to the Cathedral in Lost Angels to hear Reverend Grimme speak.  In a proclamation to the people of Lost Angels Grimme announced that he has brought about another Miracle to the land of California.  The Reverend stated; “As we all know the land around us has brought us famine and hard times in this past decade. I have striven with all my faith with God and the mortal plane to bring salvation and food to the hungering masses. Months ago we all performed a ritual so that God would hear us from our Cathedral here in Lost Angels. Our faith was so strong that the Devil himself sent his minions to stop us! Our faith was so strong that you all empowered me to fight back and banish the demons back to the Gates of Hell! Now God has heard my prayers and he has brought back life to our land! As you have begun to see over the last few months rain has once again fallen from the sky. Plants and animals are starting to return to us as well. Let the world know that it is strength in our faith that has started to rebuild this land and it is our duty as Christian soldiers to move forward and remove the blight that is corrupting the land of California!“

Hellstromme Unveils New Project, June 15, 1879

Yesterday Darius Hellstromme proclaimed to the governments of North America that he has completed work on blue prints for a new war machine. This creation of such machine is reputed to eliminate the stalemates that the CSA and USA have back East or be used in the war in California. Government representatives from the USA, CSA, the Mexican Empire, Republic of California, and the British Empire were all present and after the announcement by Hellstromme, all of them rushed the stage to try and make their bid for this war machine. From the basic points described in the presentation it will make the Ghost Rock leviathans obsolete as the new war machines will not require as many men or massive amounts of Ghost Rock to run. Hellstromme Industries has created a more efficient Ghost Rock Engine which will be reduced in size but increased in versatility. With this announcement it has brought the market of weapons back to Hellstromme Industries, as they have shied away from such major sales in the last five years, even though much of their early profits were selling such war machines to the Confederacy and the Union.

Grimme March’s Forward, April 5th, 1879

The Army of the City of Lost Angles under Reverend Grimme has marched further north and laid siege to Fort Lincoln and Sacramento. He has also attacked and captured the supply and transport town of Freedom. Currently Union forces from Fort Lincoln and Sacramento have moved out and engaged Grimme’s army on the whole front. After the quick military strike a few days ago, when Union forces were in disarray, Grimme has had all his forces concentrate on holding the ground captured. Some speculate that he is waiting for both Fort Lincoln and Sacramento to fall before he moves any further forward.

Ghost Rock Bomb Devastates Lion’s Roar, March 20th, 1879

During the late hours of March 10th a ghost rock bomb was detonated in the warehouse district of Lion’s Roar. So far the death toll is limited to the guards in and or around the warehouse. Over 40 people caught outside the ground zero blast have been listed as wounded.

The explosion that rocked the night and was reported as a "green mushroom shaped cloud" that could be seen for miles outside of town. It lit the sky with an eerie green light and people were said to hear a "loud shrieking scream for hours in town after the blast". So far the causalities number as 37 killed and 42 wounded. Marshall Henry states, “We were lucky that this explosion happened in the warehouse district and not in one of the residential areas of town or the amount of people killed could have been very high. If anyone has any knowledge of who would do such a cowardly attack, please contact the Marshall’s office in Lion’s Roar. There will be a reward for information that leads us to the persons who did this.”

This reporter has heard that Hellstromme Industries has been kind enough to send some of their people to help Lion’s Roar investigate the matter.

Famous Religious Artifact Stolen from St. Petersburg, Russia Cathedral, February 2nd, 1879

On January 30, 1879 a thief stole the Reliquary of Patriarch Job of St. Petersburg. The reliquary contained the skull of its namesake. It was being housed in the Cathedral of the Dormition in St. Petersburg. Patriarch Job was known as a supporter of the nobility in his day and many of the aristocracy visit the relics stored at the Cathedral in hopes of being blessed.

Currently there are no known clues or evidence to direct the Czar or the Church in locating the people responsible for this heinous crime. The Vatican has stated it will help their Orthodox Christian Brothers in any way possible.
